Hi everyone as some of you may know I own a 59 Lincoln Capri and the engine is frozen solid. The spark plugs are locked up tight as well. Apparently there is trick where you out diseal into the oil filler cap and just let is soak. One guy said it took three months to free up another said a couple days. It isn't that I don't trust these guys it's just I wanted another opinion before I pour diseal down into the engine bay. Here is the post on facebook if you are utterly confused.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
If you are interested about the Lincoln here is an old post I have an on again off again relationship with this car.

start by soaking the spark plug holes in ATF, Dexron 3. Soak them for a week, get an oiler and just make sure they stay wet. When you crack the plugs out of there use ATF in the plug holes. More effective than diesel, though that still works. ATF does amazing stuff, and I have freed up motors just as old and likely sitting for longer

Diesel in the oil filler is presumably to thin out what engine oil you have so that it can, itself penetrate into things in the higher portions of the engine. Pushing the oil up much higher than it's supposed to be and making it possible to run into things it couldn't penetrate. This is not that much different than a traditional kerosene and trans fluid soak or a soak in a parts washer in general. THE ONLY THING: you absolutely should not be trying to turn the engine over more than a few degrees afterward, because all that displaced overfull oil can absolutely break things. The only clear advantage this has over putting penetrant in the spark plug holes is that it will hit the lower rings (maybe) and will free up stick on the crank bearings.
All in all, this is something that would *work* to a degree, but isn't necessarily the best option. Worst case, the diesel washes oil out of somewhere it would be good to have it and leaves surfaces dry, which then grind. Oh, and neither the bore thing nor this will free up sticky valves and rockers. For that, the valve covers have to come off.

Step 1 is getting the spark plugs out. Wet them with a 50/50 Acetone/ATF mix for a while and then have at it. Make sure to get it on the threads.

Go with the ATF as stated. It works.

I'd just use ATF. Soak the spark plugs in it, and make sure it stays drenched. You can't really use too much. I'd also probably put a bunch in the block with it for a few days as long as you can get it back out. Let the crank soak, then drain it once it seems to be working. Can you get the oil drain bold or oil pan off?

PB blaster on the plugs. Then in the cylinders. Best penetrating lube I have tried

I have tried it the plugs are frozen solid. I need a torch

Well considering how tight my spark plugs are stuck it might be the only option I have. Frankly I am not confident enough to use a torch.

Thanks for the tip on turning the engine.

Not sure I haven't jacked up the car to try it

Down the oil filler? I can't get the spark plugs off

Nope apparently no one is willing to pay the price I am asking for a car with a lot of rust and a frozen engine

Tried it. 2 or 3 cans spark plugs will not move a millimeter

Well... I am, and it turns out that Sunbelt Rentals does offer them, for a reasonable rate. I could help you with that if I come out that way...

If you do we can hopefully work something out. That would be awesome. I'm sure someone in my family has one I could borrow. Just would depend on when I gotta make the greenbacks this summer

I am considering maybe keeping it. I just don't know yet

take your time, do some more homework! If you don't need the money or the space, hang onto it. You don't have to restore it in a month either

Hopefully I can!
